Not only did the Seahawks defeated the division rivals, but erased a loss suffered in Glendale, which might be very important at the end of the season.

Pete Carroll’s guys played a good game, with all of them having an equal share of action and impact on the result. Unlike some previous events, once Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf stood above all others, this one was about the entire unit.

Wilson was 23-for-28 for 197 passing yards and two touchdowns, with 42 rushing yards. He and Metcalf would immediately set the tone on the field, leading the Seahawks to a touchdown on the opening drive. It was a 25-yard reception by the sophomore WR, who ended the night with just three receptions and 46 yards.

Cardinals responded in the second quarter through Kenyan Drake, who ran into the endzone from a two-yard line, but Wilson threw another TD pass shortly after, this one to Tyler Lockett. Seahawks strengthened their lead with the time expiring when Jason Myers hit a 27-yard FG. Seattle was up 16-7 a the break.

Cards’ Dan Arnold caught a four-yard pass from Kyler Murray to decrease the gap, but Carlos Hyde again lifted the hosts to a safe lead, with his rushing 2-yard TD with 5:20 left in the third.

The temperature at the Lumen Field began to increase when Chase Edmonds brought Arizona to 21-23 at 1:41 inside the final period. He rushed for three yards taking the football into the endzone. Many believed that the Cards are on their way towards making another big surprise.

Yet, a holding penalty on G JR Sweezy, inside Arizona’s endzone, brought safety to Seahawks, allowing them to get away to a bit safer distance. It also stopped the Cards’ surge and momentum, and apart from Jason Myers’ field goal, we haven’t seen anything until the end of the match.
