The Battle for Pennsylvania saw the Pittsburgh Steelers defeating Philadelphia Eagles, 38-29. With this victory, Mike Tomlin’s boys kept their record perfect, while inflicting the big rivals their third loss of the year.
Pittsburgh solved the game in the fourth quarter, after a massive battle with the guests. The defining moment of the match happened in the latter part of that sequence, with the Eagles missing a field goal on a drive following the Steelers’ fumble.
Just 19 seconds after that, Ben Roethlisberger found Chase Claypool for his fourth score of the match. In those moments, the hosts were up 38-29.
Where Steelers’ offense stopped, the defense picked up, with Bud Dupree sacked Carson Wentz on his first play of the following drive. In the same, Steven Nelson picked Philly’s QB to seal this event.
Wentz had a nightmare day, with 20 completions in 35 passes, and two interceptions and touchdowns each, totaling 258 yards through the air, and suffering 5 sacks.
On the other side, Claypool broke the franchise record, becoming the first Steelers’ rookie to have four touchdowns at one game. He caught three passes for a score while adding one on the ground. At the end of the night, the 22-year old had seven receptions for 110 yards.
Roethlisberger was pretty quiet and wasn’t in the middle of attention because all eyes followed superb Claypool. Yet, the two-time Super Bowl champion didn’t complete just seven of his 34 passes, generating 239 yards and three TD tosses.
James Conner was the only one besides the rookie who had a TD.

Philly’s running back Miles Sanders scored two for his team, both rushing, carrying the football 11 times for 80 yards. The hero of last week’s triumph over the San Francisco 49ers, Travis Fulgham, had 10 catches for 152 yards and a TD, and Greg Ward also had one TD reception.
Right now, the Eagles are 1-3-1 and will most likely lose the top spot in the NFC East. What presents an even bigger problem is the fact that they face another AFC North team next week, the Baltimore Ravens, who are in perfect shape. Following that contest, they meet their divisional rival, the New York Giants.
The Steelers are 4-0, with an extremely difficult schedule coming up. At first, they await the Browns at home, then travel to Nashville to clash with the Titans, before visiting the Ravens in Baltimore. A three-game road trip ends against the Cowboys in Texas.
