WWE champion Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19, the news broke out earlier this week. Arguably the biggest name in professional wrestling right now received his results on Monday and immediately isolated himself in quarantine.

Per several sources, the 35-year old Scot is in good shape and has no health complications. The medical team will closely monitor McIntyre’s condition, and the fans will receive updates if there are any changes. Doctors don’t expect to see any complications having in mind his perfect physical form.

The one thing which will suffer some consequences because of this development is next Monday’s Raw. McIntyre was supposed to clash with his fierce rival, Randy “Viper” Orton, in the main fight of the entire event.

There is a lot of bad blood between McIntyre and Orton, and all that was about to be resolved at the upcoming Raw.

Also, having in mind that the quarantine rules imply two-week isolation, the current situation indicates that McIntyre’s clash with Bill Goldberg at the Royal Rumble on January 31 might be canceled.

The four-time WWE and WCW champion and one of the biggest faces of professional wrestling challenged the reigning champion to a battle at the previous Legends Night edition of Raw, minutes following McIntyre’s win over Keith Lee. WWE would later confirm their clash, scheduling it for the Royal Rumble PPV.

Many fans are hoping to see McIntyre ready for the show, but the chances are slim. Even if he overcomes the virus, and ends the quarantine after two weeks, that would leave him just four days to prepare for the veteran legend. Some suggest that he could spend some time practicing to keep in shape during the isolation, as several other athletes did recently.

The most notable name who was in such a situation was Cristiano Ronaldo. Various footage of him training at home during the quarantine flooded social networks.

McIntyre’s infection presents big trouble for WWE. The organization’s plans are now interrupted, and they have to adjust to the new circumstances. There isn’t any news about WWE’s future steps and whether they have any plans if such a situation happens again.
