The New Orleans Saints obliterated Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football, beating the divisional rivals on the road 38-3.

Not in the wildest of dreams did any of the Saints’ fans believed that their favorites might inflict such a devastating loss to one of the Super Bowl contenders. On the other side, the Bucs’ army had to endure one hell of frustration last night, and a loss that hasn’t been seen at home in years.
Believe it or not, the Saints were up at the halftime 31-0, smashing and bashing the hosts all over the court. Drew Brees had Michael Thomas again, but the fantastic WR didn’t have some stellar performance. The key to the victory was diversity, as Brees hit nine different receivers already in the opening period.

He would end the night with 222 passing yards for four touchdowns and one sack, completing 26 of his 32 attempts. One by one, Tre’Quan Smith, Adam Trautman, Emmanuel Sanders, and Josh Hill all caught Brees’ passes. Hill’s was with 9:07 to go for a 38-0 lead.
Alvin Kamara had one rushing TD posting 40 yards on the ground. Thomas had the most yards through the air, 51 in five catches.
On the other side, Tom Brady had arguably the worst game in the previous five years, with 209 yards thrown, for zero scores and three TDs. Brady also suffered three sacks for 23 negative yards and couldn’t answer properly on the Saints’ pass rush pressure.
One pretty humiliating fact for the head coach Bruce Arians was the fact that Ronald Jones had nine yards on the ground, with the entire Tampa Bay productivity in that aspect of the game coming down to just nine yards.

When playing in prime time, the Bucs averaged just 15.7 points, far fewer than their average in other games – 33.8 points.
With 6 wins and 3 losses, they will have to win both of their next matches and then hope that the Saints lose in order to reach them in the NFC South standings. Brady and the bunch meet the Carolina Panthers next, on the road, before hosting the LA Rams.

The Saints, who are 6-2, have two games at home over the next couple of weekends. Sean Payton’s guys clash the short-handed San Francisco 49ers first, and following that, they will face the Atlanta Falcons.
