The NFC East divisional derby saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeating the shorthanded Dallas Cowboys, 23-9, strengthening their leadership in this assembly.

Even though their starting quarterback Carson Wentz had another poor performance, the rest of the Eagles managed to erase all of his negative moments. It also needs to be said that the Cowboys’ current situation gave enough credit to the hosts, as Dallas played with a 7th round third-string QB Ben DiNucci.

He didn’t have any interceptions but recorded two fumbles, and both of those were punished with points on the other end. Rodney McLeod returned a 53-yard TD after one, with 5:18 to go until the end of the game. That score pulled away the Eagles to 21-9, solving this match.
The Cowboys were up 9-7 at halftime, resisting the hosts, whose Wentz was terrible. In the end, he finished the night with 15 completions in 27 attempts for 123 yards, two TDs, two picks, and four suffered sacks for 29 negative yards. Wentz also had two fumbles, which means that he handed the ball to the other side four times. With 12 interceptions this year, he leads the league in that negative category.
Boston Scott rushed for 70 yards on 15 carries, Travis Fulgham caught 6 passes for 78 yards and one TD catch. Jalen Reagor also recorded a TD.
On the other side, DiNucci was 21-for-40 for 180 yards but without a TD, and was also sacked four times for 48 negative yards. The only points Dallas had were three field goals scored by Greg Zuerlein, all of them from massive distances, two from 49 yards, and one from 59.

Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 19 times, recording 63 yards, Tony Pollard had 40 on seven snaps. Michael Gallup had 61 receiving yards, Dalton Schultz 53.
The situation in Dallas (2-6) is not good at all, as they lost both Dak Prescott (for the entire season) and Andy Dalton, who could be out for one more week. Up next, they await the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are in fantastic shape and are still unbeaten. After that, Mike McCarthy’s guys travel to Minnesota Vikings, who woke up this week, trashing the Packers on the road.
Philly (3-4-1) has another divisional matchup, this one against the Giants on the road. Following that, they jump to Cleveland to clash with the inconsistent Browns. It would be interesting to see how they handle the situation with Carson Wentz, and will Doug Pedersen bench the superstar.
