John Elway will no longer occupy the position of Denver Broncos‘ general manager. The franchise legend will instead continue to act as a president of football operations.

After 10 years and one Super Bowl trophy, Elway is stepping down. The primary reason for that, according to some sources, is the fact that he couldn’t make a competitive team worthy of reaching the playoffs.

The Broncos finished this season with five wins and 11 losses, and it seems that Elway’s pick for the new franchise quarterback, Drew Lock, didn’t justify his status.

Elway will still have a big influence on all the organization’s activities. The sources suggest that the 60-year old is going to pick the new GM when the time comes. Broncos decided to keep the head coach Vic Fangio.

Three of Fangio’s colleagues didn’t have the same luck. The Chargers, Jets, and Jaguars all fired their head coaches, and are now exploring options for the future.

What was the biggest surprise is Anthony Lynn’s departure from LA, after four years and a campaign that ended above all expectations. The Chargers (7-9) created a new star, Justin Herbert, a front-runner for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, who could be the franchise’s starting QB for the years to come.

LAC lost seven of those nine matches within one TD, not having any fortune on their side. Still, the owner Dean Spanos deiced that Lynn isn’t good for the team’s plans.

Jaguars’ owner, Shad Khan, decided that after five seasons, Doug Marrone’s time in Florida is up. The experienced coach who led the Jags to an AFC Championship Game in 2018, leaves with a record of 23 wins and 43 losses.

The 2018 Jags were one of the most talented teams in the league, but they didn’t last for too long. That was partly because of some mistakes made by the orgaization itself, and also, due to poor chemistry inside the locker room.

This year, the Jags went 1-15, but clinched the No.1 pick at the upcoming draft.

Finally, there was no surprise with the New York Jets’ decision to fire Adam Gase. The Jets’ fans are so frustrated that they can’t believe Gase won the match when he didn’t need to. In the end, that cost them the top selection at the draft.

Not just that, but the potential franchise face, and a long-term solution for the quarterback position, Trevor Lawrence.
