Green Bay Packers trashed the shorthanded San Francisco 49ers, paying back their two big defeats from the previous season. The final result of Thursday Night Football at Levi’s Stadium was 34-17 for the guests, who slowed down in the end, allowing the 49ers to get away with an honorable defeat.

If Matt LaFleur’s guys kept on at the same pace in the final period, the result would be devastating. With 6:15 left, the Packs had a 34-3 advantage once Mason Crosby hit a 53-yard FG. After that, Richie James and Jerick McKinnon, both had a TD apiece.

Everything was already decided until halftime. The Packs were up 21-3, completely dominating the field, and not allowing the hosts to make a decent attack. The 49ers had just one field goal, three punts, and one interception. That one was single for Nick Mullins during the entire night, and on the very next possession, the Packers scored through Marcedes Lewis for 14-3. One more score was brought by Marquez Valdes-Scantling, his first of the night. It was a 52-yard long catch. GB’s wide receiver had one other catch for one yard, at 7:17 of the third for a TD too.
Davante Adams added some points to the Packs numbers, with a 36-yard reception. One of the best WRs in the league ended the night with 176 yards in 10 receptions, with 49 yards being the longest.
Guests’ running backs didn’t have too much job here, with Aaron Jones rushing for 58 yards on 15 snaps.
Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdowns and 305 yards, 25-for-31. He didn’t have a fumble or an interception and was sacked once.
Mullens, on the other side, fumbled and lost the ball once, threw a pick, and a touchdown, with 291 yards. James was his favorite target, with the 49ers WR recording 184 yards for a TD, being the only one able to compete with the rivals. McKinnon had 52 yards on the ground.

The 49ers (4-5) have two extremely tough matchups coming up, both on the road. The first one was against the New Orleans Saints and after that against the LA Rams. The good thing for SF is that in between, they have a week bye.
