This round of college football saw the top two seeded schools, Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide, posting respective wins.

No.1 Clemson was better than No.7 Miami Hurricanes at home, 42-17. Last year’s CFP runners-up were pushing strong right from the first minute of the game, delivering three touchdowns in each half, and successfully restraining the Hurricanes’ offense.

Braden Galloway and Travis Etienne were in the middle of attention when it comes to scoring. The first had two TD catches, one for 24 yards, and the second for 11. Meanwhile, Ettienne had one two-yard rush, and the second counted for 72 yards, which was the most spectacular moment of the entire match. It was a display of a lightning speed from the Tigers’ running back.

Etienne ended the match with 17 carries for 149 yards and two scores. Galloway had four receptions for 74 yards.

Meanwhile, the potential No.1 pick at the upcoming NFL draft, Trevor Lawrence threw for 292 yards and three TDs, adding one rushing score of his own.

Hurricanes’ D’Eriq King threw 121 yards with 2 interceptions, completing just 12 of his 28 passes. He had solid numbers on the ground, 14 carries for 84 yards and a TD, but that didn’t help the Hurricanes who suffered their first loss of the year. Clemson is still perfect with 4-0.

In the most interesting game of the day, the No.2 Alabama Crimson Tide beat Ole Miss 63-48, at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Ole Miss was near constantly, up until the second part of the final quarter once Bama finally managed to pull away and get this one in its favor.

Crimson Tide’s head coach Nick Saban stated following the match that the Rebels figured out his defensive calls and that the hosts had a solution for all of his traps and tactics. It seems that Lane Kiffin, who was Saban’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016, still knows a lot of stuff about his previous chief.

Bama’s RB Najee Harris was the star of the night, with five rushing touchdowns, and 206 yards on the ground on 23 carries. Devonta Smith caught one pass for a TD and 164 yards in 13 receptions. QB Mac Jones had 417 yards, and two TD passes.

On the other side, Ole Miss QB Matt Corral had the same number of TD tosses, but 365 yards. Snoop Conner and Jerrion Ealy had 128 and 120 rushing yards, with two scores each. Kenny Yeboah caught 181 receiving yards to deliver two TDs.

Ole Miss is 1-2, while Alabama kept its record perfect, 3-0.
