The Portland Trail Blazers want to stop a two-game losing skid against one of the worst teams in the league, the Detroit Pistons. The boys from Michigan come to Oregon following two wins in the past three events, all of them on the road.

Detroit Pistons (16-36) +530

The Pistons are playing solidly over the last few days, recording three wins and losses in the recent six contests. The previous one was against the Kings in Sacramento, and it saw Detroit winning 113-101.

Cory Joseph, the former Kings guard, had a big motive, which is why he ended up being the best player among the guests with 24 points and seven assists. Isaiah Stewart added 16 points and 13 boards, while Saddiq Bay scored 12 buckets.

Even though the Pistons scored just 8 threes in 23 attempts, their two-point shooting was very good, and they ended up hitting 36 of 59 shots from inside the arc, which was quite a refreshment.

Portland Trail Blazers (30-21) -750

Terry Stotts’ team had five wins in six matches, but posted two defeats in a row against the LA Clippers and the Utah Jazz, both away from home.

They hope to stop that streak and start a victorious one, with the Blazers playing the upcoming three clashes all at the Moda Center. The drop in the third period against Utah was the main reason for the failure, with Portland scoring 19 points in that sequence while allowing 40 on the other end.

Damian Lillard had 23 points, CJ McCollum 19 and Norman Powell just 13. The players from the bench failed to show up, scoring just 30 points combined, which is unacceptable against the No.1 team in the league and arguably the best offense in the NBA as well.

Head to Head

Pistons hosted the Trail Blazers on the last day of March. The result of that game was 124-101 for the guests, who had Lillard splashing points all over the place, reaching the number 33. Jerami Grant scored 30 for the home side.

There shouldn’t be too many problems for the Trail Blazers, who are way better team than the Pistons, who will probably appear without Grant. The previous match saw the team from Oregon routinely handling this opponent, which is why we also suggest betting on the Trail Blazers to cover a -12.5-point handicap. After two losses, Lillard, McCollum, and the crew will seek some redemption and a big win to boost the morale a little bit.
