It’s time. Time to see the second match between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, and check out which one of these two guys has better chances of winning the lightweight belt now when Khabib Nurmagomedov is out of the picture.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Stiff Kirk Cousins, Defeat Minnesota Vikings, 26-14
Dustin Poirier +245
Minnesota Vikings Trading Defensive End Yannick Ngakoue to Baltimore Ravens
The Diamond’s chances severely dropped since the opening day. Why? Nobody knows. Dustin is a much different fighter than seven years ago once he lost to McGregor at the UFC 178, in the meantime posting 10 wins and only two losses and becoming the interim lightweight champion defeating Max Holloway, but losing to Khabib later on.
He bounced back following that loss, beating Dan Hooker via unanimous decision. He was excellent in that fight outperforming the rival, showing that he forgot the failure in the title event.
A strong stand-up fighter with an incredibly tough chin, Poirier is one of the most appealing fighters to watch, and it is no wonder why he earned various bonuses five times in the past seven matches.
Conor McGregor -315
The Notorious is back and eager to once again conquers the UFC. The Irishman who announced retirement on several occasions couldn’t resist the octagon’s call, which is why he accepted the offer to come. Similar to the previous year, he headlines the opening PPV of the campaign, which was his last match.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hold Off Giants' Last Push, Record a Win in New York, 25-23
Back then, he would dismantle Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds, but to be honest, Cowboy’s time is long gone.
McGregor lost his lightweight title against Khabib at the infamous UFC 229, and the most recent bout before that was in 2016, once he won the same belt against Eddie Alvarez. As seen here, he rarely enters the ring in the past five years.
There’s no need to explain his style of fight. Conor is arguably the most explosive stand-up fighter in the UFC, whose quickness is something unseen regardless of the division. Many suggest that he used all this free time for perfecting wrestling, but that is to be seen as well.
Poirier vs. McGregor Prediction and Pick
-->The first bout ended with Conor knocking out Poirier, and the chances of seeing the same method of the win here are pretty high. Avoid picking the winner because there aren’t any reliable sources on Conor’s condition. He comes into Saturday’s match as an enigma; therefore it is the best possible solution to pass on such bets.
