Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs easily defeated their biggest rivals for the Super Bowl trophy this year, Baltimore Ravens. Monday Night Football brought us another confident performance of the champs, who were routine against the Ravens, 34-20.

Mahomes was unstoppable and he once again proved to be the best player in the league. The 2018 MVP had four touchdown passes, and rushed for one himself, making a statement early on that he and his teammates aim for back-to-back Super Bowl titles.

Also, the Chiefs’ QB sent a message to Lamar Jackson and his Ravens that they still have to work before challenging the champs.

Baltimore took the lead on the first drive, with Justin Tucker’s 26-yard field goal. The response from the other side was furious, as KC delivered two TDs on the next two drives. Mahomes rushed three yards for the first one, and then threw a five-yard TD pass to Anthony Sherman.

Eight seconds later, Devin Duvernay made a spectacular 93-yard kickoff return, bringing back the football all the way to the end zone, delivering the absolute play of the week.

The Chiefs didn’t back out, but continues at the same pace, scoring twice more until the end of the halftime. Tyreek Hill had a 20-yard receiving TD, while Mecole Hardman posted an impressive 49-yarder to take his team to a 27-10 lead. After that, it was obvious that the Ravens don’t have what it takes to beat the Chiefs.

Both sides traded touchdowns in the last period, with Justin Tucker’s 42-yard FG preceding them in the third.

Mahomes ended the night with 385 yards, avoiding sacks and adding 26 rushing yards. Travis Kelce had 87 in six receptions, while Hardman posted 81. Tyreek Hill recorded 77, while the rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire yielded 134 yards form the scrimmage in this matchup.

On the other side, Lamar Jackson was held to just 97 passing yards, 15-for-28 for one TD, but with two fumbles. He didn’t have the solution for KC’s powerful defense. The reigning MVP rushed for 83 yards on9 carries, but without a major impact.

His Ravens (2-1) travel to Washington next week to play against the Football Team, and after that meet the Cincinnati Bengals at home.

As for the champions (3-0), they await the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders over the next two weeks.
