The English Premier League is coming back this Wednesday, and on the same day, we are about to see one massive derby – Manchester City vs. Arsenal.

The clash of two powerhouses is expected to draw massive attention, not only because they are attractive teams to watch but because EPL finally comes back after a pause caused by COVID-19 pandemics.

This hideous virus stopped sports activities all over the world, and soccer fans waited this moment for too long. Two games are set for this Wednesday, the first is Aston Villa vs. Sheffield Wednesday, and the second, as we already said between the Sky-Blues and the Gunners.

City is officially suspended from European competitions next year. The breached the Financial Fair Play agreement, and the UEFA banned the Citizens from Europe. They are trying to overturn this decision, but according to experts from this area, their prospects are near nothing. Right now, Guardiola’s side is second in the standings, but without a competitive motive.

On the other side, Arsenal still has some chances to reach the Champions League precisely due to City’s suspension. They are five points away from fifth place and Manchester United, but also have a game in hand compared to the Red Devils. With a win on Wednesday, they would come near the UCL zone and make the battle for the most prominent European club competition even more attractive.

Blades Also Want UCL, Have to Beat Struggling Aston Villa

Sheffield United is one more side which competes for the Champions League. They have a clash against Aston Villa prior to the derby mentioned above, and if they win that contest, the Blades are going to find themselves in the spot which secures the Champions League.

However, that won’t be very easy, because Villa needs three points here to flee from the relegation zone. The team from Birmingham has 25 points, with several of its closest rivals two points ahead.

This match promises good old English soccer, with lots of hard and tough duels, as well as high intensity of play.

It is one more reason for all the fans to prepare for Wednesday and the return of the most exciting soccer competition in the world.
