Francis Ngannou defeated Stipe Miocic in the main event of the UFC 260, winning the heavyweight title belt.
UFC 260 - Miocic vs. Ngannou Preview and Prediction
The Predator (16-3 MMA, 11-2 UFC) viciously knocked out the already former champion 52 seconds into the second round, finally grabbing the title, which he waited for so long.
The second-round sequence that preceded the KO was very explosive. At first, Ngannou’s left hand put Miocic (20-4 MMA, 14-4 UFC) on the ground, but Stipe got up very fast. While searching for a way to finish the fight, the challenger was a bit reckless, and Miocic used that for one counter-attack, which did stop his rival.

But instead of not repeating the same mistake Ngannou had, Stipe went forward trying to pressure the opponent, which proved to be the biggest possible mistake. He suffered a terrible KO. Ngannou dropped him with a vicious left before adding one hammer-fist in ending this bout.
This was Ngannou’s fifth win in a row, with the past four coming via first-round KO. He defeated Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
The new champion stated that he would like to meet Jon Jones next, because he believes Bones is the best MMA fighter of all time. The answer came from the other side, with the former light heavyweight champ suggesting that he is willing to take the match, but only the financial offer is suitable.
Meanwhile, Miocic lost the title for the second time, and many do wonder if one of the best ever has enough gas left to try to win it back one more time. With 38-years of age, the chances for that are slim, and his future is a big enigma.
In the night’s co-main event, Vicente Luque posted a submission win over Tyron Woodley, beating the former champion via D’Arce choke in the first round. Luque’s position in the welterweight division would undoubtedly improve after this event, and we might see him in a title-eliminator at some point.
On the other side, Woodley was once again defeated, which is his fourth loss in a row. His future is a big mystery, as it seems that the former champion can’t perform the way he did before.
