The Houston Texans defeated Detroit Lions on the road, in the opening game of the NFL’s Thanksgiving program. The final result of the contest played at Ford Field was 41-25 for the guests.

This was the third victory for the Texans over the past four events, showing that their form is rapidly improving. Whether is that enough for them to reach the playoffs, we’ll see in the next couple of matches, especially in those against the divisional rivals, Indianapolis Colts.

RB Adrian Peterson Released From Washington Football Team After Two Seasons

In tonight’s one, Deshaun Watson went berserk again, throwing for 318 yards, 17-of 25, four of those completions ending in the endzone. Watson was often throwing bombs, mostly to Will Fuller V, who had six catches, for two scores and 171 yards. Them two demolished the Lions’ defense.

One other guy trashed Detroit’s offense, JJ Wat. Although he didn’t record a sack in tonight’s match, the star defender intercepted Matt Staford’s pass and returned it to the endzone. That was the first score of the game for the guests, who were trailing at the time.

Detroit opened the contest well, with Adrian Peterson executing a one-yard rush for the score. The veteran running back added another one-yarder in the second period, with the Lions having another lead in those moments, 14-13. However, after that, it was all Houston on the field. Watson was excellent, and two passes that went to Fuller were 40 and 34 yards.

Brandin Cooks had five catches for 85 yards, David Johnson 43 yards, a TD through the air, and 37 running yards. CJ Prosise added a TD catch.

On the other side, Matt Stafford had 295 yards, 28-for-42, one TD, and one interception. Detroit fumbled the football twice, Jonathan Williams and Kerryon Johnson, which was early on, and that probably ruined the morale of the already shaken hosts, who suffered a catastrophe last week in Charlotte against the Panthers, 20-0.

Mohamed Sanu caught the only TD toss for the Lions, TJ Hockenson had 89 yards in five receptions, Johnson 52, and Marvin Jones 48.

The Lions, who are 4-7, have two tough divisional matchups, one against the Chicago Bears on the road, and after that at home versus the Green Bay Packers.

Texans have the same record, and they host the Colts, before heading for Chicago to play against the Bears. Following that event, Watson and the crew visit Indianapolis to clash with the Colts once more.
