The derby of the English Premier League’s Week 10 between Chelsea and Tottenham ended without goals, 0-0.

Jets’ Head Coach Adam Gase Wants Jamal Adams Back

Chelsea could have reached first place with a victory here, but their today’s rivals will keep that spot after this outcome. The Spurs and Liverpool have the same number of points, so it could be said that the guests are more satisfied with a point from today’s meeting.

There were just a few chances on both ends, with Chelsea dictating the pace of the match, but without a proper execution in the final third. Mourinho set up a defensive-minded gameplan, waiting for his chance to strike after a counter-attack.

Spurs’ Steven Bergwijn and Serge Aurier had two solid tries in the opening 15 minutes, but the first one was wide, and the second, stopped by Chelsea’s goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The Blues took over the wheel in the second half, producing more chances, yet without a proper ending. Ziyech, Abraham, Mount all of them had a chance to score. Olivier Giroud missed the last and the best opportunity for the home team, poorly shooting in the stoppage time.

Overall, this was a very cautious match. The stakes were high, even though the season is still early. Mourinho’s strong defensive block once again worked, while on the other side, Lampard did make several adjustments during the match, but his players didn’t utilize the chances received.

At the moment, Tottenham and Liverpool have 21 points, while Chelsea sits third with 19. Leicester might jump over the Blues if they win tomorrow, as Foxes have 18 points.

The Spurs are ahead of another London derby, with Arsenal coming to Tottenham Stadium next weekend. Chelsea hosts Leeds United. Both sides have international obligations during midweek.

In the match that preceded this one, Edinson Cavani’s stoppage-time goal brought a massive win to Manchester United over Southampton, 3-2. The Red Devils were down 2-0 at halftime, but came back miraculously in the second 35 minutes, leaving St. Mary’s Stadium with all three points in their bag.

Jan Bednarek and James Ward-Prowse scored for the Saints in the first part of the clash, but Bruno Fernandes and Cavani, with two strikes, turned the result upside down.
