No.3 Kansas Jayhawks beat No.7 West Virginia Mountaineers 79-65 in the biggest NCAA game this Tuesday.

In other matches, top-seeded Gonzaga and the rest of the top 10 ranked teams Iowa, Houston, and Wisconsin won their respective contests. In the Carolina State Game, NC State defeated UNC.

Apart from one short stretch early on in the second half, the Jayhawks (8-1) were constantly ahead of the Mountaineers (7-2), eventually posting a 79-65 victory. Bill Self’s guys shifted into a higher gear midway through the second, making a 30-6 run, which saw them solving the match.

The difference in this match were the three-pointers, with the Jayhawks hitting 16 in 37 attempts, while on the other side, West Virginia had twice as few in 23 shots.

Christian Brown nailed six for Kansas, having 22 points and seven assists. Jalen Wilson had three, totaling 17 points and seven rebounds, while Marcus Garrett hit all of his three downtown shots, scoring 15 points. Ochai Agbaji and David McCormack both had double-doubles, with Agbaji having 11 points and 10 rebounds, and McCormack the other way around.

For the Mountaineers, Sean Mcneil had the game-high 24 points, and Miles McBride 19.

The Carolina State Game saw the Wolfpack taking down the No.17 North Carolina Tar Heels (5-3). 79-76. Even though UNC made a 10-1 push, in the end, that saw them coming down to just two points, 78-76, NC State managed to get away with a win.

Devon Daniels led the Wolfpack (5-1) with 21 points, while Shakeel Moore added 17 off the bench. Armando Bacot had 16 points for the UNC, with six boards. RJ Davis and Caleb Love contributed with 11 each, while ACC preseason Player of the Year, Garrison Brooks had just 10 points.

Following this game, we might see a rotation in the AP Top 25 with the Tar Heels falling out and NC State appearing on the list.

The top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs had no trouble against Northwestern State, 95-78, posting another win on a back-to-back night. The Demons felt the taste of Bulldogs’ ferocious defense, scoring just 17 points in the first half.

Drew Timme had 25 points in 29 minutes, shooting 10 for 15, with nine rebounds. Jalen Suggs scored 19, with six boards and five boards, Corey Kispert 18 and six rebounds as well.
