The legendary golfer, Tiger Woods, suffered a crash accident, which would later force him to undergo right leg surgery. Dr. Anish Mahajan of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center revealed all the information late tonight.

The latest news is suggesting that the surgery is over, and that Woods recovers from the same. The doctors revealed that the medical procedure wasn’t easy at all, and that Woods’ right leg endured multiple injuries.

Per same sources, the golfer had multiple open fractures. In order to repair all the injuries, the medical team had to put the rod in his tibia, as well as screws and pins, which would be applied to the ankle and the foot.

Also, the muscles’ swellings were causing a lot of problems to Woods, and the surgery was the only way of removing the same.

What was positive news in the entire situation is that Woods responded well to the procedure, with him being “responsive and awake,” following the same. He is now recovering in the hospital.

There is no news whether this accident aggravated Woods’ back. He underwent a slight procedure on December 23 to fix some issues. He would publicly reveal his pause from golfing activities on Sunday, adding that he has “no timetable” for return.

Doctor Mahajan didn’t say anything on the length of recovery in this case, and whether Woods would have certain consequences that might prevent him from playing golf.

The 45-year old superstar had a single-car crash accident on Tuesday, near Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. His Genesis SUV rolled over a couple of times, enduring a lot of damage.

The witnesses who came to help Woods once seeing the demolished car outside the road stated that the golfer seemed fine inside the vehicle and that he calmly replied to all the questions asked.

The LA County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement saying that there was no evidence of alcohol or other prohibited substances in Woods’ car. The golfer, too, wasn’t under the influence of the same. They would also add that the accidents at this part of the road are often due to an inappropriate speed.

Meanwhile, the LA County Fire Department stated that they needed to use various tools while extracting injured Woods, and that the airbags undoubtedly saved his life.
