For the first time in its history, Paris Saint-Germain reached the UEFA Champions League finals. The French representatives were superior against Red Bull Leipzig tonight, defeating them with 3-0.

They met the expectations, showing one great and confident performance that saw them dominating the pitch for the entire 90 minutes. In all the aspects of the game, the Saints were far better than their opponents who tried to play the same game as against Atletico Madrid, yet that didn’t work.

Each time they would try to pressure the rival’s back line, Mbappe or Di Maria created enormous troubles upfront, transitioning the entire team from defense to attack in no time.

Neymar had the chance to break the ice early on, following Mbappe’s superb assist, but his attempt ended on the post. Once again, the Brazilian proved that even though he plays well in the field, he can’t score in recent matches.

Marquinhos erased his mistake after 14 minutes of play, once he beat Gulacsi. It was Di Maria who assisted with a cross from the left and the Brazilian smashed the ball into the net.

After the opener, Paris Saint Germain continued to attack and to create troubles, but they couldn’t score up until the 43rd minute when Di Maria himself scored. Neymar had one more fantastic chance to score in the closing moments of the first half, but he hit the post again.

In between the Saints’ goals, Red Bull had one pretty good chance, but Yussuf Poulsen’s shot from some seven yards went past the post. The Bulls were looking sharp but without the finish, and they did have periods in which they circled around PSG’s box. Still, all that was without any effects.

The Germans opened the second half well, but as soon as PSG crossed on their half, they scored. Di Maria, the best player in this one, posted his second assist of the night, setting up a nice position for Juan Bernat. The minute was 56th.

Everything was already solved then, and until the end, PSG had a couple of counter-attacks but without any spectacular results. Gulacsi was excellent, stopping four shots on target and saving his team from an even more painful defeat.

The Saints are waiting in the finals, the better from Lyon vs. Bayern Munich clash.
