Bayern Munich will fight for its sixth European title this Sunday night. The German champions slashed Lyon with 3-0 in the semifinals, setting a showdown with PSG in the match for the trophy.

The Bavarians were routine against the other French representative in the semis, securing their 11th finals in the most prominent European competition. So far they have five wins and losses each, and are looking to avoid a negative record in these matches.

As for today’s match, a routine win of Hansi Flick’s side was not only because of its good performance, but also due to Lyon’s terrible finishing. The Kids had several superb chances, one of them in the opening minutes once Depay missed an empty goal, but they failed to utilize any.

Serge Gnabry was the man of the match, with the German international scoring twice in the first half. His first hit was superb, a bomb from the edge of the box, which hit the upper left corner of Lopes’ goal. It came after 18 minutes.

Some 15 minutes after that, Gnabry scored again, using a confusion in front of Lyon’s goal, doubling the lead. After this point, there were no more significant chances, and Bayern went to the pause with a two-goal edge.

And that is solely Lyon’s fault as they had at least two more opportunities to beat Neuer besides Depay’s. The same thing was seen in the second half, as Rudi Garcia’s side missed numerous good chances for scoring. Whether that was an extra move, selfishness, or just a lack of calm, Lyon constantly failed to deliver.

On the other side, Lewandowski, who scored the third goal in the 83rd minute, had at least three golden opportunities prior to this one, to score in the event. He now has 15 hits in this campaign, and is by far the most efficient player, also netting in all nine appearances. Lewa is two goals short of Ronaldo’s competition record, and that is one more motive for him to be exquisite in the finals.

In the end, it was 3-0 for the favorites, who now await the hardest opponent this year. So far, Bayern didn’t have such a tough challenge, but neither did PSG apart from meeting Real Madrid in the group stage. The fans expect to see fireworks, as both Bayern and PSG have fantastic attacks.

The game is set for Sunday at 3 pm ET, and right now the Bavarians are the favorites according to the oddsmakers.
