New York was up slightly throughout the second quarter and the first part of the third. Midway through the same, the Kings shifted into higher gear, taking over the lead. They would keep the same until the end, although Luke Walton’s crew had many problems while doing the same.
The Knicks had one big push, which saw them coming down to just two points, 89-87. Fox scored 22 points, a team-high, and had seven assists, with three boards, but his shooting performance was not good at all, with 7 hits in 20 shots. Harrison Barnes added 21 points with 8 rebounds and seven assists,
Bagley and Richaun Holmes both had double-doubles. Bagley scored 10 points, the same as Holmes, but he had three boards fewer, 11, compared to 14 from the starting center.
Buddy Hield once again played badly. The sharpshooting guard had 11 points in 29 minutes, with six boards, but shooting 4-for-11 from the field. Tyrese Haliburton was very good off the bench, with 16 points in 31 minutes.
