Matthew Stafford is going to the LA Rams in exchange for Jared Goff and multiple draft picks, the sources confirmed tonight.
Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers Sign a Four-Year $12 Million Deal
What was already announced yesterday happened on Saturday night. The two teams worked out a deal that includes exchanging the No.1 overall picks from their respective drafts, something never seen in the Super Bowl era.

Stafford heads for LA, while the Rams sent Goff, the 2021 third-round pick, 2022 first-round pick, and 2023 first-rounder in the opposite direction. Per many, this is the last attempt of the Rams to attack the title, which is why they paid such a high price for the 32-year old.
Goff didn’t meet the expectations, and after five years spent in the City of Angels leave the franchise as one of the bigger disappointments in the history of the franchise and the most expensive one. Following a loss in the LIII Super Bowl to the New England Patriots, the Rams gave Godd a $134 million extension, with $110 million guaranteed, and that turned out to be one pretty bad deal for them.
The offense he led was losing its sharpness, and eventually, Sean McVay had a much better defensive team, which was a paradox having in mind that the Rams reached the Super Bowl due to a high-octane attacking unit.
On the other side, Stafford didn’t have any problems with his numbers, as he constantly played at a high level, but the Lions‘ board didn’t’ surround him with enough quality. He now leaves Michigan as the franchise’s No.1 passer of all times, having 45.109 yards and 282 touchdowns.
Saquon Barkley Out for the Season, Christian McCaffrey to Miss "Multiple Weeks"
Since 2009 and his draft selection, Stafford has been a heart and the soul of the Lions, becoming one of the most respected players among the fans. He often played injured, which is why respect for this player grew among not only Detroit’s fans, but all over the league.
With 32 years, Stafford will have a few more seasons at a high level, and we just might see him finally making something notable in the playoffs.
As for Goff, he comes to the team that will undergo a full rebuild, and the expectations are going to be much lower. It could be beneficial for a guy who was facing pressure from the moment he became a starter. A new leaf in Goff’s career just might be what he needed.
