The Canadian derby in the North division saw the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Edmonton Oilers minimally, 1-0. It was the second in a row for the Jets, who now lead 2-0 in the series and have the chance to sweep the rivals, which practically nobody expected.
The game-winner came in the overtime, as Paul Stastny hit the back of Mike Smith’s net at 4:06 of the OT. Still, the hero of this event was Connor Hellebuyck, who closed all the paths to his goal with 38 saves last night. Hellebuyck allowed just one goal in 71 shots over the first two contests of the series.
And finally, in the West division, the Colorado Avalanche demolished the 2019 Stanley Cup winners, St. Louis Blues, 5-1. With this break, they are one win away from the conference semis, leading 3-0 in the series.
