The latest team which is linked with Leverkusen’s wunderkind Kai Harvetz is Chelsea, and the Blues are reportedly keen on bringing the youngster.

Havertz is one of the most interesting figures on the European soccer market, and the youngster is on the radar of several major continental clubs. Chelsea is the latest one to include in the race for his signature.

The Blues are ready to make massive spendings during this summer, and they are willing to pay the right price for the 20-year old player. There hasn’t been any official bid sent by the team from Stamford Bridge, but the sources are claiming that there have been some contacts between the two sides.

Frank Lampard wants to rebrand his team, and that includes getting youngsters who are going to be the cornerstone of the team in the next several years. Havertz is one of his wishes, but getting signing would be one hell of a task for the club from London.

All the sports media in Europe is already reporting that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are the most likely destinations for Leverkusen’s superstar and that the two powerhouses already talked with Bayer’s management.

What was highly controversial last weekend was the fact that Harvetz didn’t play against Bayern Munich. He informed his coach just one hour before the kick-off about a muscle injury earned while warming up. The majority of fans and the experts immediately suggested that he reached out to some sort of agreement with the Bavarians and that he didn’t want to play against them.

Havertz was excellent throughout the entire campaign, but his performances following the restart have stunned Europe. Without a doubt, he has been the best player in Germany over these five rounds, and was among the top 10 before the pause.

In 38 games throughout all the competitions, Havertz scored 15 goals and had 8 assists, but his impact is far greater than these numbers. Without him in the lineup, Bayer would definitely be a much weaker side, which was apparent against the Bavarians this Saturday.

That quality is noticed in London, and we can expect more serious moves from Chelsea’s management shortly.
