Undefeated British boxer Daniel Dubois (10-0, 9 KOs) will be back in action Saturday, April 27 when he takes on Richard Lartey (14-1, 11 KOs) from Ghana. The bout will take place from the SSE Arena in Wembley, England.
Dubois is coming off a strong performance over former world title contender Razvan Cojanu. Dubois would win via knockout at 2:48 in the second round. The win at Royal Albert Hall also secured him the vacant WBO European Heavyweight Title.
Lartey, who hails from Ghana, will be Dubois’ toughest opponent to date. He is currently ranked #14 by the WBO in the heavyweight division and is coming off a TKO win over Morris Okola on December 24, 2018. With the win he became the WBO Africa Heavyweight champion. Lartey’s only loss was on December 26, 2014 against Ergun Mersin, when he was forced to retire in the fifth round of the scheduled 10 round fight. He has won 8 consecutive bouts since that loss.
Dubois is considered one of the top British boxing prospects in quite some time and so far his management team has taken the slow, steady approach when it comes to opponents. His fight against Cojanu was definitely a step in the direction of tougher challenges but his team must be very confident in his progress to go against another top young fighter.
Lartey has knockout power, much in the same way that Dubois does. Both are 6’5” and have a similar fighting style. Both fighters are also coming off strong performances so fans should be excited to get to see these two boxers compete. There is not a lot of footage of Lartey’s fights available so many boxing fans will be getting to see this talented boxer for the first time.
Dubois’ performance and promise has also caught the eye of Top Rank, one of the top boxing promotion companies in the world. The company is rumored to have worked out co-promotional deals with top featherweight boxer Carl Frampton, WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders and Josh Warrington, who currently holds the IBF featherweight title.
All three men are promoted by Frank Warren, as is Daniel Dubois. Rumors are Bob Arum and Top Rank are also interested in working on a deal with this promising British heavyweight fighter.

Lerrone Richards (11-0) vs. Tommy Langford (21-3)
