Manchester United Squeeze A Tight Win And Advance To The Champions League Round Of 16
Manchester United defeated the Swiss champions Young Boys, 1-0, and advanced to the knockout stage of the Champions League.
It has been a tough 90 minutes for all the spectators at the Old Trafford. Their Red Devils missed a whole lot of chance, and it seemed that Mourinho and his boys don’t have the key for the back line of their opponents.
Until Marouane Fellaini broke the lock.
It was the 91st minute when the Belgian international found himself in the box, sending the ball through the legs on his defender in the far right corner of von Ballmoos’ goal.
Trafford exploded and so did Jose Mourinho who kicked the basket with water bottles and took the other one and smashed it to the ground. It was a sign of relief for the Portuguese manager who was very nervous after all the chances his players missed today. United had 21 shot on goal, 4 on target.

United was only two minutes away from another frustrating achievement. They could end their Champions League adventure at home without a single goal scored, but luckily for them, Fellaini prevented that from happening.
Some of the fans were pretty annoyed with the way things developed on the pitch, that they decided to head for the exits earlier. It turned out that this was a bad decision.
The second match in Group H ended with Juventus defeating Valencia, 1-0, which automatically meant that
United secured the advance to the next stage. The Spanish team doesn’t have any chances left to reach the Red Devils as they have 5 points fewer with only one game to go. United gathered 10 points, Valencia 5.
Juventus is on top of the assembly with 12 points in 5 rounds and the best goal-difference, 8-2.
The guests, who showed excellent composure, are last with a sole point earned against Valencia at home. This was their debut in the most prominent competition on the European continent, and we might say that they can be proud of the way they handled it.
In the last round, Young Boys await Juventus, and United travels to Valencia. Games are scheduled for the 12th December.
