Liverpool did an amazing job in Munich by eliminating Bayern in the Champions League round of 16 phase.
The English powerhouse won on the road 1-3, and after the first leg which ended without goals progressed to the quarterfinals of the most prominent European competition.
It needs to be said that the Reds completely outplayed the home team and that their victory is fully deserved.
Jurgen Klopp outsmarted his colleague on Bayern’s bench, Niko Kovac, managing to impose his own tempo, and cutting off both flanks of the Bavarians, which are their main weapon in the last few years.
Sadio Mane scored twice tonight and the Senegalese player presented a constant threat for the hosts’ back line.

He opened the show in the 26th minute, after Neuer’s mistake. The German goalkeeper misjudged the distance between him and the ball, which Mane cleverly used sent the ball beautifully into the net.
Joel Matip scored an own goal 13 minutes later, following Gnabry’s strong low cross intended to reach Lewandowski on the far side of Alisson’s goal.
That was all from the first 45 minutes. Instead of entering the second part of the game even more energetic and aggressive, Bayern deflated and behaved as if they had the lead, and were not the ones who need to attack and score in order to go through.
It was the 68th minute when Virgil Van Dijk brought the advantaage to the guests once again, heading the ball into the net after one corner kicks.
The strong Dutchman was above all other players in the box, and he looked like a Statue of Liberty for one moment.
With under four minutes to go, Mohamed Salah made one of the most beautiful assists of the season, finding Mane who scored his second goal of the day.

It was all over at Allianz Arena who was already half empty because the majority of the people headed home, frustrated with the poor performance of their favorites.
Throughout the game, Liverpool had several more chances which could make this triumph even more successful, but either Mane or Salah didn’t have enough concentration to execute it properly.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s performance was looking below any decent standard for this club.
The draw for the quarterfinals will take place on Friday.
