Cristiano Ronaldo showed his class once again, leading his Juventus to a big win over Atletico Madrid.
The Old Lady was two goals behind the Madridians after the first game at Wanda Metropolitan stadium, but a 3-0 win tonight in Turin sent them to the next phase of the UEFA Champions League.
Ronaldo scored all three goals for the Italians, proving that he is the ultimate nightmare of the Mattress Makers, as the fans call them.

This hat-trick improved his efficiency against this opponent, and the Portuguese now has 25 goals on his account when playing against them.
After 28 minutes of play, Federico Bernardeschi, found Cristiano on the far right post following one cross from the left side. The former Real Madrid player was stronger than his guard and with a perfect header beat Atletico’s goalkeeper Oblak.
Three minutes into the second half, another header of dominant Ronaldo, who reached the ball in the heart of the goalkeeper area and managed to put it across the line before Oblak denied it. The goal line system had to react, and the referee stopped the game signalizing the second goal for the home team.
Juventus continued attacking. They were a much better side on the pitch, not allowing the rival to have any hopes of getting away from this situation.
Correa made an unnecessary challenge on Bernardeschi, who fell down in Atletico’s box, forcing the referee to award the penalty to black and whites. Of course, there wasn’t the slightest dilemma who will take that shot.
Ronaldo was calm, and sent the ball in one side, and Oblak to the other.
The guests from Spain were looking pretty helpless tonight, and one of the best European teams in the past few years didn’t have a solution for anything which took place on the field.

Throughout the entire game, Atletico couldn’t make a single shot on Juve’s goal. But even that is not shocking as much as the fact that their defense completely fell apart, which is something just a few could imagine before this contest.
For them, this is another big failure. This season’s Champions League final is played at Atletico’s stadium, and they were hoping to be a part of it.
After tonight, that could be Juve.
