The UEFA Champions League draw for the quarterfinals has been made today. The biggest game of all will be between Barcelona and Manchester United.
The Red Devils will have the toughest possible tasks in order to reach the semis, as they have to eliminate Lionel Messi and Barcelona. After beating PSG in the previous round, the luck wasn’t on United’s side, and they have to go against one of the biggest, if not the biggest favorite for winning the competition. What makes it difficult for Manchester United is the fact that the second leg is scheduled at Camp Nou, and that might be a circumstance which decreases their chances in this matchup.

The other club from Manchester City will face their Premiership colleagues, Tottenham Hotspurs. These two sides will have to play three games in only 11 days, as they also have a clash in the Premier League scheduled for 20th of April four days after the rematch which will take place at Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool’s opponent is FC Porto, and unlike the other teams from England, the Reds had a lot of luck in this draw. The Dragons are the weakest opponent of all possible if something like that could be said for one team at this stage of the Champions League. The first match is taking place at Anfield and the second one at Dragao.
And the fourth pair is between Ajax Amsterdam and Juventus. The sensational executors of the ruling champions Real Madrid, got the toughest possible opponent when looking their preferred style of play. The Old Lady’s approach is the worst possible for the Lancers, but if they aim to make more sensations, then some solution for this challenge needs to be discovered.

Four super pairs have been set up at noon today, in the Swiss town of Nyon, the headquarters of UEFA.
Unlike the previous time, when we had two pots with teams divided according to rankings in the group stage, during today’s draw, there weren’t any limitations, and one side could face any from other seven, regardless of the country or some other criteria.
The first legs are set to be played on 9th and 10th of April and the rematches seven days later.
