Arsenal snapped Manchester United’s defeatless streak, and after 13 EPL games without a loss, the Red Devils stopped. The Gunners won 2-0 in the last match of the 30th round of the English Premier League.
All the good things have to come to an end, and that is precisely what happened to Solskjaer’s amazing start on the United’s bench.
But that is not what is the worst part for the Red Devils’ fans and the club itself. Arsenal jumped over them in the standings, and they have 60 points, just one fewer than Tottenham on place No.3. United is fifth with 58, and Chelsea right behind with 57, and a game in hand.
It needs to be said, that the guests played better at Emirates, and that they deserved to see a different result in the end. Right from the beginning, Manchester started threatening, and during the first 45 minutes, Romelu Lukaku and Fred had both hit the woodwork. That wasn’t all, because United had more chances, but all of them couldn’t bring a single goal, which cost the visitors a lot in the end.
Granit Xhaka, brought the lead to Arsenal after 12 minutes of play, with a precise strike which ended in the lower right corner of De Gea’s goal.

Nothing changed until the break.
The second 45 minutes also began in the same rhythm, with United dictating the tempo and the intensity, and Arsenal defending and trying to break from the counter-attack. Lukaku was in a perfect position to equalize, but the Belgian international couldn’t beat Bernd Leno, whose intervention saved his team.
That was just one of the few reactions which earned him the man of the match award.
With 69 minutes behind, Fred made a very poor challenge in his box, bringing down Alexander Lacazette, and forcing the referee Jonatan Moss to award the penalty to the home team.
Aubameyang didn’t have problems unlike the match against Tottenham last Sunday, and the Gunners doubled the lead.

From that moment on, United’s focus vanished, and the guests started to make mistakes, which could make their defeat even more convincing. Fortunately, for them, it didn’t happen.
After nine straight wins away from the Old Trafford, United finally lost and complicated his position in the Champions League race.
